Remotive Server 1.4

Remotive Server is the server component for Remotive.

Supported Operating Systems:

• Windows Vista (any edition with Windows Media Center)
• Windows 7 (any edition with Windows Media Center)

Requirements:

• .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Download)
• Windows Media Center

What's New in 1.4

Fixed a few small issues that prevented release of 1.3. Volume control implemented in 1.3.

Download:

Windows Vista, Windows 7 32-bit (x86): RemotiveServer_x86.msi
Windows Vista, Windows 7 64-bit (x64): RemotiveServer_x64.msi

You can download previous versions of Remotive Server here.

Setup:

1) Install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Download) on the PC you wish to control.
2) Install Remotive Server on the PC you wish to control.
3) Once Remotive Server has been installed, launch Windows Media Center.
4) On your Windows Phone 7 device, open Remotive.
5) If it is your first time running Remotive, you will be prompted to enter the server address. Otherwise, you will need to open the Application Bar (the grey bar at the bottom of the screen) and click Settings.
6) In the Server Address field, enter the name or IP address of the PC you installed Remotive Server on.
7) Leave the port at the default value, 8888.
8) Click OK.
9) You should now be up and running. If you cannot connect using the computer name, try the IP address.

Your Windows Phone 7 device should be connected to the same network as the computer you installed Remotive Server on. To use Remotive over a cellular connection, please see additional notes below.

Additional Notes:

Remotive uses port 8888 to communicate with Remotive Server. To access your computer through a cellular connection, you may need to perform additional network configuration. Specifically, you may need to foward port 8888 to the computer running Remotive Server. Please see http://portforward.com/ for additional information.
